Reliable pin headers
This pin header offers a cost effective and very reliable solution to establish a so called board to board connection. The header has been subjected to several tests like nanosecond or vibration test (here report) and has achieved good results. The pin header is compatible with the following connectors from our program.
The number of pins can be configured from 2x3 to 2x20 pins. Other configurations are available on request.
The bottom side of the component is designed in such a way that the paste deposit between the component and the PCB is not flattened, thus eliminating the risk of tin bead formation. A pin in hole connection is generally stronger than a pin on pad connection, thus the connector will hold a higher load than, for example, a comparable connector with a surface mount connection. The length of the pin is chosen so that a good soldering to the PCB takes place. With this pin length also no paste is pushed out of the solder joint, thus the connection complies with the IPC A610 standard in most cases.
